PORTRAITS | MINI SESSION WITH SAMANTHA - DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO, CA
Another Mini Session with Samantha in Sacramento, styled once again in vintage from my personal COLLECTION and sporting her own beret. I can’t get over how beautifully the tones of this mosaic wall works with her outfit and coloring, and it’s literally on the side of a parking garage. We met up on a grey, drizzly day in Sacramento and wandered around the midtown district and stopped by Old Soul Co. for coffee and snagged these lovely, moody shots all within a block or two of each other.
I’ve grown to love Sacramento as a city to shoot in. It’s neighborhoods are diverse and colorful, full of a unique blend of architectural styles mixed throughout with towering trees and lush gardens. The downtown area is an eclectic hodgepodge of stately craftsman homes, rambling victorians subdivided into multiple apartments, and the clean, angular industrial and apartment buildings of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. all of this strung together along wide, tree-lined streets that spread out in a convenient grid from the center. I had never been to this pocket of the city, and I was pleased to discover some lovely new walls to shoot against and a spacious coffee shop with cushy chairs to wait out the rain in.
